Well, it’s really awesome that you are a star performer. There is nothing wrong with wanting to get paid handsomely. This world runs on money & your ambition to earn more is justified. However, getting obsessed with earning the highest in your company is not healthy.
You need to earn good according to industry & company standards, but fussing too much about it will push you to become ‘greedy.’ It will make you dissatisfied, no matter how much you earn. There is no point in having more salary, but no mental peace.
Look for a job that pays you well, but gives you great overall learning, joy & growth. Moreover, you need to understand how much money you are making for the firm. Is it a billing rate the firm is charging for you? Is a product that you are building making profits?
You need to make the company earn more in order to justify your high salary. Finally, if nothing satisfies you, perhaps you should start your own company. That’s the ultimate way to ensure you make as much as you want!
